Stationery Box

I received one of these wonderful Stationery Box for my birthday, full with wonderful cards, notes and tags. One of my very talented Stamp Club members, Jo, made it for me. I was so delighted with it, and at how beautiful it was, I decided to finally have a go myself.

This is a flower that I made myself , here is the link, so you can make one also. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/dimensionalflowers/

This is a pretty decoration for the front.

This is the flower on the inside of the box.  This one is a lot smaller.

These are the tags for inside the box

Four little love notes and envelopes.

Four cards, all made from a couple of pieces of DSP from Stampin' Up!

The Stationery Box open

Close up of the Address Book, Stamps and little flower.

The lot altogether.

Closed Box.

You can find this tutorial from Amy Celona website  www.ustamp4fun.com

This tutorial is made from USA size papers and a little small for Aussie envelopes and cards.

Adjustments I made, after I made the box.  When you download from Amy's site the adjustments will make sense.(Score at 5" & 7" on one side, 2 3/4" & 9 1/4" on the other score bottom at 3/4" 7 11 1/4")

I would like to thank Jo so very much for her beautiful gift and the inspiration to make my own. My Mother and Mother-in-law both received one of these for Mothers Day.

Have a go now and you will be very happy with the end result.

Surprise Surprise Surprise

I had a Big birthday coming up, and thought I would just go out to lunch with a few girl friends.  So I organised this for the day of my birthday.  BUT my family was organising something much bigger behind my back. This is very unusual for Matt, as he is not into anything like this. So as I organised, my daughter was un-organising my plans.  Matt told me he was taking me out for a romantic dinner for 2.  I laughed and said, " you never do that", he said, " I thought we would give it a try".
We arrived at the Tooleybuc Sporting Club to a room, few of family and friends. It was amazing that they could pull this off, because I am usually the organiser. I had a wonderful night, with everyone and would like to thank my wonderful family very very much.

This is the group that I walked into, what a Surprise.

Me cake my 50th Birthday Cake

Matt and Myself

This my family, with the exception of Danny.

The night came to an end, and we all went home.  The next day was actually my birthday.  So there was more Surprises. They had continued to organise something more.  Matt told me to pakc a bag for a few days.  We left for our road trip.  We travelled to Echuca, had lunch, then onto Moama and beyond.  We arrived at a lovely place called Deep Creek Mariner Resort.  This was amazing.  On the banks of the Murry River, with wonderful accommodation.  Then as the day went on , the whole family started to arrive.  This was fantastic.  We all stayed here for the long weekend.

Matt and I with Baby Jordan 5 months.

Than I was lucky enough to have another cake.  Both my cakes were made by Loreto Kennedy.  She done a great job.  Thank you Loreto.

The surprises didn't stop there, Matt had organised for my sister, Leanne and her husband Dean with their kids Jackson and Brady to come and a close Friend Marg to come. I was so happy for them to arrived.  We had a lovely day with them all.
Leanne (sister) and Jordi.

We all had such a wonderful time, we are going to do this yearly. The kids played, fished, swam and ran.  The Big kids fished, waited on me all weekend and drank a little.

Double Scrap Page Layout

Just had to share this page with you all.  Not only for the wonderful new Stampin' Up! products, but for my gorgeous little Grand-daughter.
I had to use the new Vintage Vogue Stamp set, and the Big shot, with the new Timeless Type junior Alphabet.
It has also made it easier to Scrap with the new packs of 12  x  12 cardstock available in single colours.

Stamps:  Vintage Vogue, Kindness Wheel
Card Stock:  Elegant Eggplant, Pixie Pink, Pink Passion, Lavender Lace
Ink:  Elegant Eggplant, Pink Passion, Lavender Lace
Accessories:  Eyelet Border Punch, Big Shot, Timeless Type Alphabet, buttons, dimensionals, SU handle, elegant eggplant grosgrain ribbon.

I have used the kindness wheel diagonal across the corners of the page, to give the page a lift and add dimension to it.

Hope the close ups give you enough detail.

Top Note Envelope Card

This was a fun card to make.  Using the new Top Note Die with the Big Shot, makes the top of the envelope.

I got this idea from http://andreawalford.com/?cat=115&paged=4
Andrea created a Christmas one. I was wanted to incorporate the Sale-a-bration stamps.
I found it was better to crimp the envelope before sticking it together. So when you read through her instructions keep that in mind.

Enjoying having a go.

Stampin' Up! Manhattan Flower

I love this card, and so simple.  Searching the net I found this on Barbara Jean Smith blog.
http://pinkpjstamper.blogspot.com/2010/02/joining-hopes-stamp-camp-share.html

The new embossing folders can be used in all sorts of ways and this is one that is effective and easy.
You have a positive image on the front and negative image on the inside fold.

Tri-Fold Card

Take a 6"  x  12" piece of cardstock.  Fold and score the card so that the right flap is inside and the left flap is on top.
Take the left side flap and line it up with the Manhattan Embossing folder so that the fold in the card lines up with the edge of the design.
Run through the Big Shot. Take not of the direction of the folder.  Your arrow should be up.  I ran mine through sideways, completely open.
Now do the same thing to the opposite side, only moving the folder not the cardstock.
Take not again the folder is now flipped.  The arrow is underneath but still pointing upwards.
This gives you the positive and negative sides.

Cut edges of the roses, moving the cardstock that is not embossed.  Cut up to the fold line and continue up the fold line.

Add an insert to your card, I doodled around the edge with a Stampin' Write Marker and stamped a small image in the corner.
Held it closed with a piece of Tafetta Ribbon.

Stamps:  Tiny Tags 119187  $38.95 New Mini
Ink:  Only Orange and Garden Green
Card Stock:  Only Orange, Whisper White
Accessories:  Big Shot,  Manhattan Embossing Folder, Stampin' Write Marker, Tafetta Ribbon, Snips

Thanks again to BJ Smith for sharing her ideas.

Scallop Circle Big Shot Die

This simple but very effect card, I cased it off Splitcoaststampers (fantastic site for ideas), not sure who it was now, sorry.
I made a template for the dress using the scallop circle die now available from SU and me http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/nyobre/

All you have to do is cut out a scallop circle in card board (I use the sheet in with the DSP papers)
Then take your 1/4' ribbon reel and do a half circle with 4 scallops up the top and 10 at the bottom, on both sides. Thats it.
Stamps: Sale-a-bration Whimsical Words
Card Stock:  whisper White, Brocade Blue and DSP (6 x 6) inches
Ink: Brocade Blue
Accessories:  Filigree Brad, Taffeta White ribbon, Round Tab Punch, Lge & Small oval punches, brad, big-shot and embossing plate.

This is a great card, give it ago, you will make many more.

Sweet Treat Tote

After the exciting news posted this morning its hard to get back to basics.

This Sweet Treat Tote is another project we made at the launch. This is a great little gift for anyone, you can make for men, women or children.  The jars that I have are Spice jars, so you have to empty out all yours spices and place them into something else.

I have used different colours to all the class ones, in the class they used Kraft as the base colour, so any colour can then go with it.

Stamps:  Cottage Garden
Card Stock:  Kraft, DSP  2 different colours
Ink: Rose Red, So Saffron, Almost Amethyst, Regal Rose
       Certainly Celery and Basic Grey
Accessories:  Scallop Edge Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scissors, 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Scorer and cutter, sticky strip and snail.  (3 spice jars)

If anyone wants the instructions just email me and I can send them on to you.
(nyobre@aapt.net.au)  In subject line put Sweet Treat Tote.

More Big Shot samples

Happy Easter to Everyone,

Here is another project we made, using the Big hot.  This time we used the Party Favor X-Large die from Stampin' Up!.  This makes a very cute box that you could use for so many things.  I have used the Papers and Stamp set out of the last mini, but you can adapt this to any stamp set and papers.

Sorry for the quick stop over, just returned from Bendigo, the traffic was amazingly busy.  We had a wedding, and what a super day, and wonderful weather the lucky couple had.

See you soon,
